Today, you will embark on a guided tour of Oslo, the capital of Norway. Your private guide and driver will accompany you as you explore the city's highlights. Begin your tour by walking along the ramparts of Akershus Fortress, a medieval royal residence with stunning coastal views. Continue to Karl Johans gate, the city's main street, where you can admire the Royal Palace from the 19th century and the expansive Palace Park. Take a moment to visit Oslo Cathedral, a beautiful 17th century landmark, and appreciate the grand university buildings nearby. Next, venture outside the city center to The Vigeland Park, a remarkable sculpture park dedicated to Gustav Vigeland and his unique nude statues made of granite and bronze. Immerse yourself in Norwegian food culture at Mathallen, an indoor food hall, where you can sample local specialties and beer. Discover history and culture at the open-air Folk Museum on the peninsula of Bygdøy, where you can see an ancient stave church from over 800 years ago. After your time in Oslo, board a direct flight to Longyearbyen. The approximate flight duration is 3 hours.

Upon arrival, you will be met by your private driver and vehicle for a convenient transfer between the airport and your hotel. Alternatively, a shared transfer will be provided for you.

After breakfast, embark on a journey to Longyearbyen, the world's northernmost town. This vibrant frontier settlement is filled with snowmobiles and is best explored on foot. As you stroll down the main street, keep an eye out for Svalbard reindeer, who may make a curious and gentle appearance. Take in the polar bear-inspired art or pay a visit to the North Pole Expedition Museum. In the afternoon, before continuing your Arctic adventure on the ship, partake in an included excursion or opt for an electric bike, dog-sledding, or hiking tour.

If you're lucky, you may even catch a glimpse of a polar bear hunting on the ice. In Kongsfjord, you may witness glaciers breaking off into the sea. So be prepared for adventure as we take advantage of any opportunity to kayak, use our small boats (RIBs), hike, or participate in beach clean-ups.

Your Arctic cruise offers a comprehensive program of activities and features that aim to immerse you in the wonders of the polar north. No matter your interests or activity level, there will be something for you. The expert Expedition Team will give insightful lectures on various subjects like geology, marine biology, history, photography, and ornithology. You can also take part in Citizen Science, where you can contribute to diverse projects documenting wildlife and the environment. Our options include heading south to Freemansundet and Kapp Lee or using our small boats (RIBs) to explore Edgeøya or Barentsøya. The Expedition Team will plan the daily activities, considering the local ice and weather conditions, to offer you thrilling landings, hikes, and kayaking tours.

In Svalbard's eastern region, the largest population of polar bears resides in the frozen seascape. Expect to spot these elusive creatures in the next two days. Our exploration will also involve searching for walrus, Brünnich's guillemots, and other seabird colonies in the Hinlopen Strait. We may choose to travel to Freemansundet and Kapp Lee or opt for small boat rides (RIBs) to Edgeøya or Barentsøya. The Expedition Team will determine the daily schedule, considering local ice and weather conditions for exciting landings, hikes, and kayaking tours.

An invigorating polar plunge offers an unparalleled opportunity to fully engage with the Arctic environment. During your journey, you'll have the chance to brave the cold and experience the thrill of diving into the icy polar waters. This unforgettable encounter is a must-do experience for all adventure enthusiasts.

As we approach the southernmost point of Spitsbergen, we will reach Hornsund, a stunning fjord in Svalbard. The landscape here transitions from lush, vibrant vegetation to towering mountains, creating a breathtaking view along the waterway. Take a moment to step out onto the deck and look for seals and whales, while also admiring the majestic Mount Hornsundtind and witnessing glaciers breaking off into the sea. The green patches of land you'll notice are nurtured by colonies of little auks, which in turn attract Svalbard reindeer and Arctic foxes. Be sure to keep a lookout for these incredible creatures. Later in the evening, we will continue our journey north towards Isfjord, passing by the beautiful Bellsund.

During our Svalbard circumnavigation, we will explore Isfjord's lush fjord system. This area is abundant with wildlife, vegetation, and human history, as evidenced by the immense, glacier-carved valleys. Heading north, Alkhornet is a haven for various species such as guillemots, kittiwakes, Svalbard reindeer, and Arctic foxes. The beaches and bays in this region reveal clear remnants of its whaling and hunting past. Continuing south, we will come across the former Isfjord Radio satellite communication station, which has been transformed into one of the world's most stunningly located hotels. Our activities for the day will depend on the unpredictable weather conditions in Isfjord, as determined by our Expedition Team. They will select the best options for exploration each day.

In the morning, you will leave the cruise ship and say goodbye to the crew and other passengers.

Take a flight back to Oslo, which will take approximately 3 hours.

From Oslo, catch a scheduled flight to Bergen, with a flight duration of around 50 minutes.

Upon arrival in Bergen, you will be met by a private driver and vehicle for your transfer.

Begin your walking tour of Bergen with your private guide, exploring the vibrant city's highlights. Start by wandering through the historic Bryggen wharf area, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and showcasing the city's past as a prominent member of the Hanseatic League empire in the 14th-16th centuries. Then, visit the lively fish market, a charming spot where locals have been trading their catch for over 800 years. As you stroll along charming streets and narrow alleyways, you'll also discover quaint wooden houses from the 18th and 19th centuries. To top off your Bergen experience, take a round-trip ride on the Floibanen funicular railway to the summit of Mount Floyen, where you can take in breathtaking views of the city below.

Embark on a picturesque boat ride from Bergen's harbor, taking you through the archipelago to the enchanting Holmen Island. Here, you'll find one of Norway's finest dining establishments, Cornelius Seafood Restaurant, where you'll be treated to a scrumptious 5-course dinner. Upon arrival, you'll be greeted with a delightful welcome drink and a short demonstration of shellfish at the RaBar. As you savor your meal, relish in the stunning vistas of the fjord, mountains, and rocky islands, while observing passing boats and ships. Cornelius prides itself on its Meteorological Menu, which features delectable seafood dishes and creative culinary techniques inspired by the weather and the day's catch. After your dining experience, return to Bergen's harbor on the boat for a memorable conclusion to your excursion.

The entire journey will take approximately 5.5 hours.

Begin your transfer from Flam to Oslo today by train, with a connection in Myrdal. The initial part of the journey involves a cogwheel train ride to Myrdal on the Flam Railway. This 12-mile route is renowned for its steepness and offers some of Norway's most breathtaking and untamed landscapes. En route, you'll witness rivers cutting through deep ravines, waterfalls cascading down snow-capped mountains, and mountain farms clinging to sheer slopes. The route also includes a few spirals, allowing the train to gain vertical elevation in a short distance by passing over itself. In Myrdal, you'll disembark and continue your journey on the Bergen Railway, consistently ranked as one of the world's top rail experiences. This unique railway line, located at Northern Europe's highest altitude, poses challenges due to harsh and rapidly changing weather conditions. However, with skilled workers, advanced equipment, and tunnels, the Bergen Railway is one of the safest and most comfortable modes of travel across the country.
