Day 1

SAN JOSÉ TO VARA BLANCA

Upon your arrival, a personalized sign will be held by an English-speaking assistant outside of customs to ensure your added comfort. This assistant will then accompany you to retrieve your luggage and give you an ID sticker, which will aid in meeting your private driver. Additionally, a welcome package consisting of vouchers, a country map, and other valuable tourist information will be waiting for you at your first hotel. Finally, you can look forward to a private transfer from San Jose to Vara Blanca, with an approximate travel time of one hour and 30 minutes.

Day 2

VARA BLANCA

Take part in a guided tour of the La Paz Waterfall Gardens to witness the stunning scenery. Although the main waterfall is famous, the most breathtaking falls are located above it in a steep canyon that can be easily reached via the lodge's hiking trails. These five waterfalls, surrounded by mixed vegetation along the La Paz River, are the most picturesque in the country. Look out for flowers, butterflies, orchids, hummingbirds, and rare local creatures along the way. The paved trails and hand railings make this walk suitable for people of all ages and abilities.

In the evening, join a group tour to observe the vibrant leaf-frogs of Costa Rica in Vara Blanca. These small and colorful creatures are considered the mascots of the tropical rainforest, representing the pure and natural essence of Costa Rica. The night time is ideal for spotting these nocturnal amphibians, as they create a symphony of sounds in the lush cloud forest. Keep your eyes peeled for the six different species of leaf-frogs, including the Blue Sided Leaf Frog, which can only be found in Costa Rica.

VARA BLANCA TO ARENAL

Start your day with a transfer from Peace Lodge to Arenal. Enjoy the scenic routes of Vara Blanca and the lowland rainforest of Sarapiqui. Stop at La Tirimbina for a chocolate tour and hands-on chocolate making session. Learn about the artisan process and enjoy chocolate samples. La Tirimbina is connected to the Amazilia del Caribe Women’s Association. Continue your transfer to Arenal.

Relax and unwind at The Springs Resort and Spa. Enjoy the geothermal waters in the landscaped pools with stunning volcano views. ARENAL

Experience the excitement of zip-lining through the rainforest canopy in Arenal.
