The guided tour will then take you to the picturesque island of Lidingo, where you will visit Carl Milles' home. Spanning 194,000 square feet, Millesgarden is comprised of terraces and features studios showcasing both original and replica works by the artist. The Vasa, a ship that sank to the bottom of the harbor in 1628, is regarded as one of the best preserved ancient maritime artifacts worldwide. Its ill-fated maiden voyage covered a mere 1300 meters before it capsized near the shore. Initial attempts to salvage the ship were unsuccessful, but a state-funded operation began in 1956. After years of preparation and raising smaller portions of the ship, the main lift was successfully executed in 1961. However, the preservation efforts continued until 1979, when the application of the preservative substance was completed.

The extensive and laborious undertaking has left behind a legacy for future generations to explore and learn about the seafaring history. Upon entering the building, visitors are greeted by the fully restored and preserved Vasa, showcased in all its grandeur. The ship is impressively displayed indoors, alongside various exhibits that delve into topics such as the construction process, life on board, and Sweden's maritime heritage.
