When you arrive at the IceHotel, we recommend participating in the guided check-in tour. This tour will provide you with instructions, hints, and tips on how to sleep well in freezing temperatures, as well as a brief history of the property. The tour is available in both English and Swedish. As you check in to your cold accommodation, you will receive a key to your own locker where you can store your clothes while you change into your sleeping attire. If you are staying in a suite, you will have access to a small changing room where you can leave your outdoor clothes. When it's time to sleep, you can pick up a sleeping bag and sheets from the reception desk in the warm building connected to the IceHotel. You can choose between single or double sleeping bags. To ensure a comfortable night's sleep, we recommend wearing thermal underwear, such as long johns and a long-sleeved undershirt, as well as a woollen hat. Your luggage will be stored in a locked luggage room during your stay. Bringing it to your room will cause it to freeze overnight!

The warm building connected to the IceHotel offers warm bathrooms, showers, and a sauna. If you need to use the bathroom during the night, you will need to leave your sleeping bag and go to the warm building. Here's a tip: try not to drink too much coffee before going to bed!

At around 7.30 am, an IceHotel guide will wake you up and bring you hot lingonberry juice in bed. Afterward, you can enjoy a warm morning sauna in the building and then head to the IceHotel Restaurant for a buffet breakfast.

The ICEHOTEL usually opens in early December and stays open until mid-April. In December, visitors can witness the intense process of building the hotel, with snow cannons and machines moving heavy ice blocks onto the Torne River shore, where artists carve sculptures out of ice.

Throughout the weeks leading up to the end of the year, different parts of the IceHotel open up to guests and visitors. This time of the year is very dark, with the sun never rising above the horizon, but it provides a great opportunity to see the Northern Lights.

As spring approaches, the sun becomes warmer and it becomes more tempting to sit outside and enjoy a cup of coffee. The snow reflects sunlight, so it's important to be cautious and avoid getting sunburned. The large amount of snow and warm weather also make it a perfect time for snowmobiling and skiing. In March, ice is harvested from the Torne River, which draws a large audience to watch the process.

One excursion option allows you to experience the beautiful nature of Lapland during daylight. You'll travel across frozen lakes and bogs, through hilly landscapes, and enjoy traditional Swedish fika by an open fire.

The IceHotel offers two on-site restaurants. The ICEHOTEL Restaurant provides a gastronomic adventure with a high-end a la carte menu. It has received recognition from gourmet magazines and was awarded the Werner Vögeli Statuette. The Old Homestead Restaurant, built in 1768 and overlooking the Torne River, offers a rustic á la carte menu during winter. Both restaurants have a casual but well-dressed dress code. Additionally, there is a lounge open from 11 AM to 1 AM, serving sandwiches, coffee drinks, wine, and beer.
